Judge Realty agents tee’d up this week for the SCAD Museum of Art public performance by artist Pia Camil. This installation, specially commissioned by the SCAD Museum of Art, is the latest and the largest iteration of Camil’s ongoing interest in t-shirts as repositories of cultural information. The artwork is one colossal fabric mass comprised of more than 1,000 repurposed t-shirts stitched together yet maintaining each tee’s neck opening.
The Judge team joined Camil in Forsyth Park as she leads a public, participatory performance to kick off SCAD deFINE ART 2018. Onlookers and volunteers collectively wore the garment generating a moment of togetherness. Accompanied by the SCAD drumline, the walk provided a unique opportunity to be a part of an artistic performance celebrating diversity.
This performance is part of SCAD deFINE ART 2018, held Feb. 20-23 at university locations in Savannah and Atlanta, Georgia, and Hong Kong. This is an annual program of exhibitions, lectures, performances and public events that highlight emerging and established artists.
