CH: Since its inception in 1996, City Storage has driven innovation in the self-storage industry through a thoughtful combination of creative site planning, award-winning architectural design and solid economic operating performance. When they decided to expand their portfolio in to the Savannah market, Casey Howard, with Judge Commercial, was able to help them negotiate a winning location, at 560 Indian Street, to establish their growing business and stage their high-end, urban-style self-storage services.

What made you choose Judge Commercial?

CS: Initially, City Storage came by Judge Commercial by way of their distinguished property signage. However, Judge’s prompt response to our initial inquiry, their thorough property collateral materials, and moreover, their transparent communication led to an easy decision to work directly with Judge Commercial versus our engaging a tenant broker to represent our interest.

Tell us about your business.

CS: City Storage has changed the face of self-storage. For more than a decade, City Storage customers and their communities, and Company investors have benefited from City Storage’s superior customer service, award-winning design, and strong economic operating performance.

Whether you are relocating, remodeling, spring cleaning, or a business customer who needs economical storage space for inventory, merchandise or equipment…City Storage can meet your self-storage requirements.

Our new downtown location at 560 Indian St. (across from the Fahm St. Post Office) will be opening Summer 2015.

What was prompting your search for a new location?

CS: In short, geographic diversity prompted City Storage to search for locations throughout the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. City Storage is pleased that Savannah, GA proved to be a viable market for our full-service climate controlled self-storage product and service.

Three words to describe Casey Howard…

CS: Candidly, narrowing to only three words describing Casey Howard of Judge Commercial is too restrictive for the reader to appreciate her true value-add to the real estate transaction. However, following this constraint and in no particular order; complete market and product knowledge, intense drive toward a mutually rewarding transaction between all parties, and an absolute pleasure with whom to work.

From beginning of your search to signing of a lease how did we do?

CS: Casey and her Judge Commercial team stayed on-point from our initial property inquiry to well after the lease was signed. And as one familiar with the transaction would appreciate, several critical lease term hurdles followed the lease date.

Advice for others leasing commercial properties?

CS: The most experienced real estate professional always appreciates the value of professional local market and product knowledge. So as did City Storage in Savannah, one would be well advised to work with the best in the market.

What was your overall experience working with Judge Commercial?

CS: Suffice it to say City Storage is pleased to continue its working relationship with Casey Howard and Judge Commercial.
