The traditional African proverb, “It takes a village to raise a child” has been widely quoted when examining the partnerships required during the maturation of our youth. In this face-paced, instant information, and pressure-packed world today’s children are faced with a myriad of both challenges and opportunities. Navigating parenthood can be a daunting undertaking – partnerships and supports are welcome and necessary to prepare our youth for tomorrow.

Thankfully in the Savannah community there is no shortage of support in fostering youth development. Frank Callen Boys and Girls Club is one of the many clubs and organizations in the lowcountry whose mission is to enable all young people, especially those in need the most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

Judge Realty is sponsoring the annual A Night of Future Stars, to be held on Wednesday, November 12th, at Savannah Station.  “I really believe that the youth of today have an advantage that other generations in the past did not possess and I want to make sure we as a community nurture and support their development as best we can” says Lori Judge, owner and lead broker of Judge Realty who has sat on the board of the Boys and Girls club for over 3 years.

Some programs being highlighted for the evening are those that are specifically catered to areas where outreach helps the most including Kids Café (daily hot meals), Power Hour® (mandatory after-school homework help and study hour), SMART Moves® drug and alcohol prevention, NetSmartz® internet safety program, and programs geared toward literacy, abstinence education and leadership skills development.

“We are so excited about this event not only because it’s raising significant support for the Club’s very important programs but it gives our members a great opportunity to showcase the rich talents that they have developed – after all they are our future stars,” said  Vincent J. DelMonte, Executive Director of the Frank Callen Boys & Girls Clubs.

Tickets are still available for the event.  For more information or to purchase ticketss head to www.bgcsavannah.org
